About this class

The Global Classroom is thrilled to present our ninth classroom – Exploring the Stars. Exploring the Stars welcomed NASA Scientist Dr Stefanie Milam to the classroom to learn and explore all about the James Webb Telescope that will begin to unfold our universe before our eyes.

Exploring The Stars took place on the 11th May at 14:00 BST. The event was broadcast live via Microsoft Teams.

We are incredibly excited to have welcomed Stefanie into the classroom for the first time. Dr Stefanie Milam is a Planetary Scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Centre in Greenbelt, Maryland and serves as the James Webb Space Telescope Deputy Project Scientist for Planetary Science.

Through the Live session, our Global Classroom students had the opportunity to explore space within and beyond our Solar System.

Led by Scarisbrick Hall School Exploring the Stars worked with NASA scientist Dr Stefanie Milam to explore her story of why she became a Scientist, explore the James Webb Telescope and the incredible opportunity it will present us with to understand life beyond planet earth and unfold our universe. Finally we will discuss what we may be able to see when the first images have been returned.
