Dr Galiatsatos is an MD and Assistant Professor at the John Hopkins School of Medicine and focuses his work on health and wellness.
About Dr Panagis Galiatsatos
Dr Galiatsatos is the co-chair of the John Hopkins Health Equity Steering Committee. He is also co-director and co-founder of Medicine for the Greater Good, a novel medical initiative impacting over 10,000 of Baltimore City.
Having completed his undergraduate studies at Temple University, medical school at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and internal medicine training at John Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr Galiatsatos has also obtained a range of further medical qualifications.
He is also the director of the Tobacco Treatment Clinic at Johns Hopkins, and over the years has published in excess of 40 research articles focussing on health equity, community engagement and contextual-level variables impact on health outcomes.
Dr Galiatsatos is also co-author of a book series “Building Health Communities”, where a review in JAMA discusses “this book literally has the potential to save lives”.
Over the years, he has also featured in TED talks discussing the need for healthcare to engage with the local community for health equitable outcomes.
Recently, throughout the pandemic, himself and colleagues have coordinated community engagement to ensure all populations were able to access COVID-19 updates and resources in an effort to assure compliance with public health requests.
