Whether you’re teaching from home or at school, using free curricular educational resources is a great way to make lessons more interactive for children. Here at The Global Classroom, our online education series can be used as a teacher resource to enhance a child’s learning and development. Read on for some teacher inspiration on how The Global Classroom by Scarisbrick Hall School can be used as a teacher resource and how you can incorporate it into lessons.

What are teacher resources?

First and foremost, as a teacher one of the most popular learning resources you might obtain is your curriculum resources. However, as every child has their way of learning, whether a kinesthetic learner, auditory learner,  visual learner or other, reading out of a textbook might not be the best way to learn for everyone.

Other popular teacher resources include films, quizzes, animations, and lectures to name but a few. When selecting resources, teachers will want outstanding materials to make their class as engaging and fun as possible.

Here at The Global Classroom, not only do we host sessions monthly about a whole host of topics, but we also host the Great Hall Lecture Series as an additional educational resource.

If you are  a teacher and would love extra educational resources, The Global Classroom has an array of teacher programme resources to make your lessons interactive and suitable for all children.

Using The Global Classroom as a teacher educational resource

The Global Classroom is a global education initiative that shines a light on different topics. For example, health and wellness, generational changes and the environment. Below we have listed ways how to use The Global Classroom as a teacher and educational resource:

  1. Pop on a clip from one of The Global Classroom Sessions
  2. Direct your pupils to watch the live session when they get home from school
  3. Incorporate the session as part of your lesson

As the Global Classroom covers topics relevant to children’s curriculum, there’s no better way to make your class more interesting and interactive than with The Global Classroom as a teacher resource.

1. Pop on a clip from one of The Global Classroom Sessions

As both physical education and health and wellness have been two topics covered, a clip from The Global Classroom could be nicely woven into your lesson plan to inspire children. All past Global Classroom Sessions have been uploaded to Youtube, so why not have a browse and see if there’s a clip that could be shown to your children? We all know how difficult it can be to talk and share wisdom about a subject that isn’t your speciality, so why not let the experts do the talking?

2. Direct your pupils to watch the live session when they get home from school

Alternatively, you could use the next upcoming event from The Global Classroom as a theme for your lesson planning for the week. Teachers can use this educational resource to frame their ‘focus’ for the week and direct pupils to watch the session live. Watching it live can leave all children feeling inspired and understand why they have learnt what they have learnt that week.

3. Incorporate the session as part of your lesson

Lastly, you could have a whole lesson around this educational resource. Putting on a past recording for half an hour of the lesson will allow children to learn a bit differently to usual and will be a nice change to your regular teaching.
